Who is she?

Hi, I’m Michaela. I’m a registered Physical Therapist (Philippines) and full-time mom to the sweetest baby boys, trying to record her daily sartorial adventures, life discoveries, inspirations, and mundane day-to-day chronicles.

I’m passionate about reading and photography. Although I’m no pro at the latter, I do enjoy capturing the simplest of things to intimate moments I wish to cherish forever. Shy, quiet, and reserved, at first I’m a real tough shell to crack. I usually enjoy my solitude or a good book for company, but once I loosen up around you, I can easily bombard you with my opinions and POVs on topics ranging from anything to everything under the sun. 😂 I can get too comfortable too soon, there figuratively is no in-between. When the scale has tipped over to the other end, I then tend to overshare and expose my vulnerability. A lot. I’m a very emotional being and that usually amplifies the things I feel. Maybe you’ll even get a glimpse of that here on my blog lol. But rest assured, that is something I am personally working on. (Yay to self-improvement!)

I haven’t been around much (yet), but I intend to one day immerse myself in the beauty and wonder of different places, people, culture, and art, and hope that for as long as I continue to venture through this journey called life, I’ll soon get to share those experiences with you.

As of today, I am currently focusing on getting certifications and honing my PT skills by volunteering, doing home services, and joining seminars and workshops. I am also working towards passing the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) in New York, United States, and hopefully furthering my studies by pursuing my doctorate afterwards. Fingers crossed for years to come!

About the blog.

I created this site as a safe space for me to express and narrate the events of my existence. Like everyone, I’m just tying to figure out who I am for a good chunk of my life. I’m trying to live out loud and embrace my quirks and rough edges, and I aim to encourage others to do so as well. This blog is an open book / testimony to my most honest, raw, and real self and I hope that as you skim through my posts, you eventually find yourself feeling like you’ve made a connection with me as a friend, or a confidant, or simply as someone you can relate to.

I’ve enjoyed writing or “stringing words” (as I’d rather call it), since I was a kid and took my first ‘real’ step with the field when I joined the school paper staff in fourth grade. I initially contributed news and feature articles and in my sixth grade (also my third year into journalism), I was awarded first placer in a regional press conference and qualified to compete nationally.

In High School, I was given multiple division and regional level first place awards every school year. I then took on the role as Associate Editor during my Freshmen Year and got promoted to Editor-in-Chief during my Sophomore Year and maintained that position up till I became a Senior. I was also appointed as Yearbook Editor and got to graduate with both titles, as well as with the Award in Journalism and School Paper Service Award, both in Gold.

I’ve built most part of my pre-teen and young adolescent lives on almost every co and extra curricular activity I could join and Journalism was just the centerpiece. I’ll admit, when I entered college, my love for words and expression simply just… died down. And even now as an adult, I don’t get to do as much as I used to like back in the day. Sometimes I can’t even seem to put my thoughts into words anymore. But through this blog, I’ll try to nourish my roots every now and then.

Stories on discovering life, my reality as a homemaker, small victories and triumphs as a parent, discoveries as a consumer, visits to and sojourns in destinations around the world are what make up this blog. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, you’ve come to the right place! I hope that you enjoy what you see (and read), and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for dropping by. 🙂
